Susan Magers

Susan began her advocacy career over 25 years ago after both of her children were found eligible for special education services.  She worked as a family-community partner for CARD-USF and as a parent liaison for the Sarasota County Schools.  Since 2008, she has provided advocacy services directly to families in the Sarasota-Manatee area.  Susan has served on numerous state and local committees to promote improved opportunities and access for people with disabilities. She is the award-winning co-author of Moms Move Mountains: Special Education Survival Guide for Parents, and most recently she published Soul Survivor: A Practical Guide for the New Widow.
